  1. Oh that's easy. Type "scale" hit enter. Select your objects to scale and then right-click or enter. ACAD asks for a base point, pick the top of the 3' dimension line. Next it will ask for either Copy or Reference. Type R for reference and right-click or enter. It will ask for reference length, pick the 1st point of dim line again and then the far one It will then ask for new length, so tell it 3' and enter. Done

  2. thanks CtrCoo is exactly what I was looking for (the client wants a list of coordinates of pits to be dug, the pits are shown as rectangular hatched areas, ideally if I could I would have exported to a text file to populate a table with later.. but for now and for speed CtrCoo and type the numbers into the table). I like Foo - putting a circle in the centre of each hatch, I will keep that to one side for now and it might come in useful later, thanks

  4. When I figured out how to use polar/object snap tracking, I dropped ortho like a hot potato and never looked back.
