Attribute value to text within a block

Dear forum members,

Nice to meet you all

Have a request I hope is not to complicated.

I need a lisp that can "burst" attributes within a block insert.

I don't care how the lisp will do this. i.e burst the block and redefine it or any other way.

As long as everything else remains the same except that the Attributes are now text/mtext

The attributes contains fields linked to DWGPROPS and that should remain also

Not sure why you are asking BURST BURST BURST

Not sure why you react like this

Please read the title

Within a block BURST does not work

I need to "burst" entities WITHIN a block insert

maybe bigal needs a vacation before he bursts? :ouch:

think this one is something for Lee : http://www.lee-mac.com/nestedburst.html

Not sure if linked fields would survive ...

LOL I hope I did not make him burst

Anyways this routine bust the block and does not make it back to a block again

I will see if there is a variable that contains all the entities and maybe with entmake I can make a block of it again

I cant give you answer as my post does not appears

Don't know why

Routine does not work it burst the block does not make new one

well I'm not the expert like Lee , but as soon as you add a text to a block , you would change the block definition and therefore all blocks would be updated with the same text. Else you would have to create a new block (name) for every block you convert. But then I again , I may be wrong... a real drawing with a real block , before and after , would be helpful for those who are able , willing and smart enough to help you...

Why does my post does not appear?

It was waiting on moderation because you were quoting a reply with a link in it, since you do not have 10 posts yet.

im not allowed to upload files

but you can make a simple block containing 1 Attribute not really much work I guess

No restriction on uploading a file as long as it meets the size limit to post directly to the forum, you can post links as well to cloud sites, etc., you just have to wait on moderator approval.

These ATRIB needs to become MTEXT incl FIELD

Everything else NEEDS to remain the same

And may I ask why you need a dwg of me?

Any other dwg that has 1 block at least containing ATTRIB can be used for this

if someone wants to write a code he needs something to work with, to test it on. I don't have much time at the moment because of my heavy workload but will have a look later if no one else is willing to help.

had a quick look and its a little more complex than I first expected , but I'll get there , maybe tonight , on the couch... The way I want to go is get all block attributes , get insertion points and trans them to wcs , get their value and height and store info in list. Then remove them from block definition. And last but not least create (3) new mtext's with same height , position and value , but I'm not sure about the field part yet. Anyway , first gotta do a few more drawings for the boss unfortunately.
