Airfoil program

I asked this here about one year ago, but my hard drive on the secondary computer took a dump last night. It had various Windows 3.1 programs running on it also. One of the various programs was an airfoil program that seemed to work direct in Autocad very well. As the software was obtained via a fellow onna web I came by. I then (foolishly) located hiswork on to only one hard drive and then, as you figured took a dump on me last night. The author of the software died last year, and a fellow who knew him has taken off on some extended ten month vacation. I got to know the two via CADALOG correspondance of 2-3 years ago.

What I am looking for is some sort of airfoil program that will take my .COR files and make a rib of one known chord length. It then can be biased against a secondary one, and intermediate airfoils determined that run between two .COR files. All this in Autocad.

The old software used to do it very fast. The (then alive) author said it was a simple LISP program he used or could be converted into a SCR file complete with blanks and number boxes to fill in. I only used the LSP variety. Basically, I would enter in both of the airfoil coordinate files, the beginning chord and ending chord length. and how many over what distance. In a matter of two seconds would then create an array of calculated airfoil shapes stacked vertically in which I could then WBLOCK out each one and use in another location.

Anyone know of a location that one can be obtained?

Name of program?

Name of author?

I can't believe you don't have a backup copy on a floppy disk (soft or hard), on a tape drive, or on a CD.

Modeling Software.

I see you have been discussing this with SoCal GliderGuider.

So, the author was from Toronto and it was freeware but I still see no mention of the program name. You could not have forgotten could you?

Hugh, the glider fellow mentioned above died a few years ago.

The other guy who took the place moved to Toronto, and is now retired and off on some ten month trip all over Europe watching professional skiers.

The copy I have is simply called AIRFOIL.LSP and have on another drive which had an error in it. I would only run on HIS computer, not anyone else's. He re-wrote it one month later (used same title), and I find now got numerous copies of original software, but the only copy I got of replacement is on that pooped out hard drive. I got a program that will extract the copy, but only if the second hard drive will turn over OK.

NAC4GEN Version 2.0D - calculates & plots naca 4-digit airfoil section.

Download at CADinfo.net - AutoLISP Mechanical

The NACA generator would be OK if I was using a standard airfoil of the 1930's. I copied it years ago, and is zip compressed again, ready for that day I need it. I have yet others in late model coordinate fashion and they do not work in that system.

I'm not a member either. Is there a fee or something to join?

Slipped old pooped out hard drive into a third computer and it took off running near end of day then. No error mesages.

Then found old airfoil software gave error messages. But, if you use the RUN button and keyboard only it goes as in past. Quickly made up some files and will be back for another recco' as to where to find a better Autocad program then.
