I have attached my current block that I use for labeling my details on sheets. I'm trying to learn how to make dynamic blocks and I'm not having the best of luck just yet. What I'd like to be able to do is make this block dynamic and make it so that it has a list of scales that you can pick from. When you pick a scale (say 3/4"=1'-0") it will automatically fill out the "scale" attribute.
Another thing I'd like to do is instead of having to use %%U to underline the title, I'd like the little line attached to the circle (delete the underline and you'll see it) to stretch automatically with the length of the title text. I'm not sure if all of this is possible, but if someone could adjust the attached block to get me started, I would appreciate it. Thanks, KK |

I tried something else. Try open my attachment, and see on the layout.
Change the viewport scale, and regen. Your scale will be automatically updated. I use field for this attribute definition. You can create a scale list like you want with visibility state, but I think this is better. For the underline, I can't find out how to automatically stretch it. But I add stretch function so you can adjust the line length. Does it close to what you need? ![]() -- Edwin Prakoso |

Look on your A10 sheet. This is the viewport title that I use. All you would have to do is add a number attribute to it, but I think this is what you're looking to do with the scales.

This one works fairly well if being used in paper space, but I can't figure out how to adjust the field (never used fields before). Currently with this block, if I adjust the viewport to be 1/8" = 1'-0" the scale changes to show 1" = 7.99974".
Of course, like SuperCAD's block, these would work best in paper space and I label my details in model space. (I work in an office of about 50 other people that would be using these blocks so I can't disrupt the status quo too much at one time )Quote:

You can set the block to allow for annotative scaling (i.e. it will increase or decrease just like the text and dimensions) but I don't think there is a way to automate the scale that is shown in the tag. I think you still have to set that manually.

You poor soul ![]() We just started using fields here not too long ago and it's made our lives easier. It works especially well for the title block information (customer, project title, address, etc) and updates all of the sheets at the same time, rather than going page by page and changing it. |
