Chris Wilkinson Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Hi there, While waiting for a new cad wkstn to be delivered to a new staff member we temporarily gave the guy an old machine with cad 2008 on it. We realised the licence had expired when we fired the machine up, so I went to an even older machine that we knew had a valid cad 2006 licence on it, and exported that one to a file using the PLU. When I went to import the file into the PLU on the cad 2008 machine the PLU refuses the import telling me the product is wrong. It seems I cannot bring a valid licence for an older version of cad into a newer version. The new wkstn is due any time now so we're now not going to bother trying to transfer a licence, as the new wkstn has a fresh one, but now that I've exported the cad 2006 licence from the older machine (its only 2006 machine in office, all others are 2008/2009MEP/2010) how can I get it back since I cannot import it elsewhere to export it back to the original machine? Kind regards, Chris W. Brisbane, Australia. Quote

Chris Wilkinson Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 You may have to bite the bullet and either contact you authorized reseller or AutoDesk itself. I'll leave that up to IT. The licence was on a PC we dragged from the "dust-catching room" to temporarily give to one of the engineers, after his normal PC's hard disk cooked. We didn't even know it had cad on it until he clicked on a dwg, and acad opened it instead of truview... Regards, Chris W, Brisbane, Australia. Quote
